Queen Elizabeth National Park – Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Cruise

Wake to the soft glow of dawn over Queen Elizabeth National Park and set out for an early morning game drive — the bush coming alive with the rhythm of the wild. Watch herds of elephants moving through the mist, buffaloes grazing in the open savannah, and lions basking in the first light of day. With a bit of luck, you might even glimpse a shy leopard retreating into the trees. After lunch, trade the open plains for the tranquil waters of the Kazinga Channel. On your boat cruise, hippos wallow lazily beside the boat, crocodiles sun themselves on the banks, and an orchestra of birds fills the air with sound and color. Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Community Experience

Begin the day early with a hearty breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for your pre-trek briefing with the rangers. After a short orientation, venture deep into the misty jungle of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest — a place of ancient trees, tangled vines, and soft birdsong. The trek can take anywhere from two to six hours, depending on the gorillas’ movement, but every step is part of the adventure. When you finally encounter your assigned gorilla family, time seems to pause. You’ll have a full hour to watch them — playful juveniles tumbling through the undergrowth, mothers cradling infants, and the mighty silverback keeping watch. It’s a moment that stays with you forever. Later in the day, visit the Batwa community — the original forest dwellers of Bwindi. Learn about their traditional way of life, hear their stories, and enjoy their rhythmic songs and dances that echo through the hills. As night falls, unwind at your lodge surrounded by the whispering forest, carrying the magic of the day with you.

Do I need a visa to enter Uganda?

Yes. Most travelers require a visa to enter Uganda, which can be obtained online via the official e-visa portal before arrival. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of entry.
When is the best time to visit for gorilla trekking?

Uganda is great year-round, but the best trekking conditions are during the dry seasons — from June to September and December to February — when the forest trails are less muddy and easier to navigate.
How difficult is the gorilla trek?

The trek can range from easy to challenging depending on gorilla movement and terrain. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended. Porters are available to assist with your bag or lend a hand along the trail.
What should I pack?

Bring comfortable hiking boots, long-sleeved shirts, light rain gear, insect repellent, garden gloves, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle. A good camera or binoculars is a must!
How close can I get to the gorillas?

You’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing the gorillas from a safe distance of about 7 meters, as per park regulations.
Is the gorilla permit included?

Yes — your gorilla trekking permit is included in the safari package and pre-arranged on your behalf.
What is the group size for the trek?

Groups are limited to 8 trekkers per gorilla family, accompanied by expert rangers and trackers to ensure safety and minimal disturbance to the animals.
Are there health requirements?

A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required to enter Uganda. It’s also recommended to take malaria prophylaxis and carry a basic first aid kit.
Can I pay with a credit card during the safari?

In most lodges, yes — but cash (USD or UGX) is useful in rural areas or for tips and local purchases.
How much should I tip?

Tipping is appreciated but optional — generally $10–$20 per day for your guide and $5–$10 for lodge staff or porters is considered fair.
