Day 1

Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your guide collects you from your accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe and the journey south begins. The drive is long but beautiful, passing through local villages, green hills, and farmland. You cross the Equator along the way and stop for lunch before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive in the evening, settle in, and enjoy dinner surrounded by forest sounds.

Day 2

Ultimate Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast, head to the briefing point where park rangers explain the gorilla trekking rules. Accompanied by expert trackers, you hike through dense forest in search of a gorilla family. The trek can take anywhere from one to several hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. When you finally meet them, you spend one precious hour observing their interactions, feeding, and play in complete silence. Return to the lodge in the afternoon. If time and energy allow, enjoy a gentle community or nature walk near the lodge.

Day 3

Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, depart Bwindi and travel north to Lake Mburo National Park. This smaller park offers a completely different feel, with open acacia woodland, rolling hills, and lakes. Arrive in time for lunch, then head out in the afternoon for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, getting close to hippos, crocodiles, and water birds. An evening game drive may follow as you return to the lodge.

Day 4

Walking Safari & Return to Kampala

Begin the day with a guided walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger, one of the best ways to experience Lake Mburo up close. Walk among zebras, antelope, and birdlife, and observe wildlife at eye level. After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe or Kampala with stops at the Equator and the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers, where traditional drums are crafted by hand. Arrive in the afternoon, marking the end of your safari.
